The Fall of Lyonia (full-length novel, 2024) A teenage boy, his sister and their two cousins are destined to save a fairytale land from evil by becoming its kings and queens. But the messenger sent to take them there disobeys his instructions, some of the children get left behind, and a real princess who is totally unsuitable gets taken instead, with disastrous results. This homage to a well-known author is the product of many years of meditation on my love/hate relationship with his novels and his worldview. Reading level: probably young adult. (98,400 words) |
